I absolutely love things made out of renewable resources, like wood or coconut.  Here are a few companies that have some great looking products made out of wood.

First up is ShWoodShop (http://shwoodshop.com).  They make a collection of really cool sunglasses made out of various trees.  Wood manipulation is kept to a minimum in order to showcase the medium’s natural and unique splendor. All models are accompanied by 100% UVA/UVB protection Carl Zeiss lenses imported from Italy. Polarized lenses are also available.  The MSRP of the glasses is around $125.00.

Next up is WeWood (http://www.we-wood.us).  WeWood produces a line of very unique wooden watches.  Each watch is made from various trees including Red Wing Celtis, Blackwood, Maple and Guaiaco.  Another benefit to purchasing a WeWood watch, is the company will plant a tree for every watch purchased.  In just the first three months of operation, WEwood planted 5,000 trees with American Forests, and sets challenging targets for 2011 and beyond.  The band is just over 8 inches (220 mm) long and can be adjusted down to 6 3/4 inches (172 mm) short by removing links.
